The Legal Status of Cannabis in the United States

The legal status of CBD (cannabidiol) and other cannabis-related products varies by state in the United States. 1.      Legal for Recreational and Medical Use: Some states have legalized both recreational and medical use of cannabis and its derivatives, including CBD. Examples include:

4.      Delta-8 THC: A much Lighter dose of THC with less of the High Effect Seems to help people relax more compared to other Cannabidiol, or CBD products and is Legal to sell in most states do to a loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill Delta 8 is unregulated at the federal level. In recent months 14 States have blocked the sell of Delta-8 citing lack of research into the compounds psychoactive effects, those states are:

5.      Delta-9 THC: Has a Stronger Dose of THC which produces the High Effect and is Legal to sell in most states do to a loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill when it comes to delta-9 and having no substantial legal challenges in progress. This means that it’s limited to being 0.3% delta-9 by dry weight, but that’s it and is legal in :

6.      Completely Illegal: Some states have not legalized any form of cannabis use, including CBD, for either recreational or medical purposes. Possession or use of CBD products containing any amount of THC can be illegal in these states:

·         South Carolina
·         Wyoming

Remember that CBD derived from hemp (with less than 0.3% THC content) was legalized at the federal level with the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill.
